Acne Treatment
Chatswood, Sydney.

Harsh chemicals and prescription drugs often destroy your skin barrier, leading to returning acne and sensitive skin. At MARA.H, drawing on 15+ years of focus on problematic skin, we treat acne as an internal dysfunction — rebuilding from within, not suppressing from the surface.

What Type of Acne Are You Dealing With?

Different acne types require fundamentally different clinical approaches. Identifying yours is the first step.

Hormonal

Adult & Hormonal Acne

Deep, painful cystic breakouts often concentrated around the jawline and chin. Triggered by hormonal fluctuations, stress, or gut dysfunction.

Barrier Damage

Compromised Barrier

Red, inflamed, and stinging skin caused by overusing actives, retinol, or prescription topicals. The acid mantle is stripped and defenseless.

Flat Marks

Post-Acne Marks (PIE/PIH)

Red or dark brown spots left behind after pimples flatten. More persistent in Asian and darker skin tones. Responds well to our pigmentation treatment program.

Textural

Indented Scarring

Ice-pick, boxcar, and rolling scars caused by collagen loss. Requires collagen induction through skin needling and laser to physically rebuild.

Treatment Approach

Treating the cause,
not just the symptom.

Most beauty salons offer a basic deep cleansing facial to extract pimples. While extractions are necessary, they do not stop new acne from forming. Over-exfoliation and harsh acids simply strip your acid mantle, leaving your skin defenseless.

At MARA.H, Marina Hu focuses on regulating sebaceous flow, flushing stagnant toxins, and physically rebuilding the compromised skin barrier. All protocols are medically overseen by the MARA.H clinical team.

The MARA.H Protocol

A 3-Step Acne
Revision Program.

Step 01 — Purify

Medical Deep Cleansing Facial

Clinical extraction of active congestion — not a spa facial. Precise extractions, light medical peels, and LED therapy to kill P. acnes bacteria and reduce inflammation immediately.

Step 02 — Rebuild

DMK Enzyme Therapy

The core of our acne revision. DMK utilizes reverse osmosis to flush deep lymphatic toxins, regulate oil production, and completely rebuild the defensive skin barrier from cellular level.

Step 03 — Erase

Laser & Scar Revision

Once active acne is cleared and the barrier is strong, we use Skin Needling and PICOSURE® PRO to erase remaining red/brown marks and smooth out indented textural scars.

“We don’t suppress acne — we rebuild the skin’s ability to regulate itself. That’s why our results last.”

— Marina Hu, Founder

Acne Treatment FAQ

Skin revision works with your skin’s natural 28-day life cycle. Most clients see significant reduction in inflammation within 4–6 weeks. For a complete transformation, Marina typically recommends a 12-week program combining in-clinic DMK Enzyme Therapy treatments and a strict homecare prescription.
It depends on your current congestion level. During your initial assessment, our clinical team will evaluate your skin. Often, we perform a medical deep cleansing facial to safely extract active pustules before commencing the structural rebuilding of DMK Enzyme Therapy.
Yes. Once active breakouts are under control, we target post-inflammatory pigmentation (PIH/PIE) using the PICOSURE® PRO laser. For indented or pitted scars, we use clinical Skin Needling (MTS) to stimulate collagen production, effectively resurfacing and smoothing the skin texture.
Standard facials only extract pimples and apply topical products. At MARA.H, drawing on 15+ years of specialist focus on problematic skin, we treat acne as an internal dysfunction — regulating sebaceous flow, flushing stagnant toxins via DMK Enzyme Therapy, and physically rebuilding the compromised skin barrier. This is paramedical skin revision, not a beauty treatment.
