Book Rejuvenation →Why Paramedical
Changes Everything.
Traditional facials only work on the surface epidermis. A true clinical facial utilises pharmaceutical-grade active ingredients, paramedical enzymes, or ultrasound energy to communicate with cells in your deeper dermal layers.
This ensures the results are structural — not just a temporary glow that washes off the next day. Every protocol at MARA.H is designed by founder Marina Hu and performed by our Head Therapist, a validated DMK practitioner with 15 years of industry experience.

Risks and Suitability
What most people experience
What you feel depends on which of the three protocols your skin is on. DMK Muscle Banding and Advanced Ultrasound Repair facials commonly bring warmth, temporary redness and a tight feeling that settle within hours. The Advanced Rejuvenation option involves skin needling and chemical peels: expect visible redness for one to several days, dryness and flaking as the skin turns over, and pinpoint bleeding at needling points on the day.
Less common risks you should know about
For enzyme and Advanced Ultrasound Repair protocols, irritation and breakouts while the skin adjusts are the main ones. For the Advanced Rejuvenation option the risks are those of needling and peels themselves — post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in melanin-rich skin, infection if broken skin is not cared for, prolonged redness, and rarely scarring. Those two carry a fuller risk profile than a facial, set out on our Skin Needling and Chemical Peels pages.
Recovery and what it affects
Which protocol you are on decides the recovery, so they are named here one by one. DMK Muscle Banding: usual day resumed immediately; redness settles within hours. Advanced Ultrasound Repair: no set restrictions; your therapist confirms on the day. Advanced Rejuvenation (needling + peels): plan around several days of visible redness and flaking, with sun protection and no exfoliants during that window — the full timetables live on the Skin Needling and Chemical Peels pages, and those take precedence for that option.
Results and responses vary
Paramedical skin management runs as a course rather than a single appointment. How your skin responds depends on which protocol suits it, the state your barrier is in when you start, hormonal factors, sun exposure and how consistently home care is followed. Reactive and sensitised skin usually needs the pace slowed rather than pushed. Note that the Advanced Rejuvenation option combines skin needling and chemical peels: those two carry risks, recovery time and aftercare of their own, set out in full on our Skin Needling and Chemical Peels pages, and the disclosure on this page does not replace them. Conditions such as rosacea, hormonal acne and pigmentation are managed over time rather than removed permanently, and they can return.
When this isn’t suitable, or needs assessment first
Treatment is not carried out over active skin infection, broken skin, or an acute flare of eczema, dermatitis or inflamed acne in the treatment area. Tell the clinical team if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, are taking isotretinoin or stopped it recently, have had recent laser, needling or peel treatment, have had recent sun exposure, have a history of keloid scarring or of cold sores, or have a known allergy to any product ingredient. Which protocol you are suited to — and whether any resurfacing step is appropriate for you at all — is decided at assessment, not at booking.
If something doesn’t seem right
Call the clinic on 0468 358 861. Redness that has not settled by the following day, swelling, blistering, itching or a rash spreading beyond the treated area, or skin that keeps getting worse rather than settling should be looked at rather than waited out. If it is severe or you are worried, contact your GP or call 000.
