Japanese Sculpting
Lift by Hand.
A 90-minute manual sculpting protocol developed in Japan — no needles, no devices, no energy. Just precise, trained hands working through every muscle and lymphatic line of the face. Performed by our Head Therapist, Japan-trained, 15 years’ experience. AU$598.
Our Head Therapist trained in Japan in this specific manual sculpting protocol. 15 years of clinical experience. Validated DMK practitioner. Performed only by therapists trained in the technique.
When You Want Lift Without Energy.
Modern aesthetic medicine often defaults to devices — ultrasound, radiofrequency, laser, needles. Japanese facial sculpting is the deliberate alternative: a structured 90-minute hands-only protocol that achieves visible lift through trained technique alone.
Trained Hands Only
No ultrasound, no radiofrequency, no laser, no needles. Pure manual technique — which means zero risk of thermal damage, PIH, or device-related complications.
See It After One Session
Most clients see a clear, photographic difference in face shape after a single session — sharper jawline, lifted cheekbones, reduced puffiness, brighter eye area. The lift is mechanical and lymphatic, and the result is visible immediately.
Built for This Anatomy
The Japanese protocol was developed for Asian facial structure — the muscle insertion points, lymphatic patterns, and bone landmarks that define East Asian faces. It works with this anatomy, not against it.
A 90-Minute Structured Protocol.
Every minute of the session follows a deliberate sequence — pressure, direction, depth and rhythm are all prescribed by the technique. This is not relaxation massage. It is structural work.
Lymphatic Pathways
Nancy opens the cervical lymphatic drainage points first — the gateways through which all facial fluid leaves the head. This phase reduces puffiness and prepares the face for restructuring work.
Muscle & Fascial Work
Targeted pressure along specific muscle groups and fascial lines mechanically lifts and tones. The cheekbones rise, the jawline sharpens, the brow becomes more defined. This is where the visible result is built.
“In Japan, this work is treated with the seriousness of a clinical procedure — because it is one. Every line, every movement, every pressure is there for a reason. Done right, you see the result in the mirror immediately.”
Who This Treatment Is For.
Japanese facial sculpting suits specific clients particularly well — and is sometimes the only option for others.
Pre-Event Lifting
When you need to look your sharpest tomorrow — wedding, photo shoot, important event, returning from travel. Manual technique only — no device, no energy delivery, and no wound to the skin. Most people go straight back to their day. What changes, and by how much, varies between individuals.
Energy-Treatment Averse
Clients who don’t want or can’t have ultrasound, radiofrequency, lasers or injections — but still want measurable lift.
Clients Avoiding Heat, Energy or Downtime
Some people cannot have heat-based or energy-based treatments, or cannot accept downtime. This technique uses manual work only, with no device and no energy delivery. Whether it suits your particular situation — including during pregnancy or breastfeeding — is assessed individually at consultation.
Post-Treatment Recovery
Excellent following injectables, laser, or device treatments — accelerates lymphatic clearance, reduces residual swelling, and supports tissue recovery without compounding inflammation.

Book Your SessionRisks and Suitability
Results and responses vary
What you see after a session depends on how much fluid you were holding that day, your facial structure, your muscle tone and how your lymphatic system is working. The contour and puffiness changes that are visible straight afterwards are not permanent — they settle over the following days, and lasting change comes from repeated sessions rather than from one. How long an effect holds differs from person to person. This is manual work on soft tissue: it does not alter bone structure, and where sagging is driven by significant skin laxity, a different approach may suit you better.
When this isn’t suitable, or needs assessment first
Treatment is not carried out over active skin infection, broken skin, sunburn, or an acute flare of eczema, dermatitis or inflamed acne in the area being worked on. Tell the clinical team if you are having active cancer treatment or have a history of lymphatic disease, have a history of blood clots, bruise readily or take blood-thinning medication, have had recent facial surgery, thread lifts or injectable treatments, or have a jaw joint problem — pressure and drainage work is adjusted or postponed in these situations, and how long to leave it after an injectable treatment is decided at your consultation rather than assumed. Whether it suits your particular situation, including during pregnancy or breastfeeding, is assessed individually.
If something doesn’t seem right
Call the clinic on 0468 358 861. Bruising that keeps spreading, pain in the jaw or neck that does not settle, swelling that is worse rather than better the next day, or a rash over the treated area should be looked at rather than waited out. If it is severe or you are worried, contact your GP or call 000.
After your Japanese Sculpting Facial
On the day
Mild flushing and a worked-muscle feeling in the face can follow the manual sculpting — both settle within hours. Cleansing as normal with cool-to-lukewarm water is fine the same day; makeup the same day is fine if the skin is calm.
Days 2 to 7
Occasionally a small tender spot or light bruising appears where deeper work was done; it fades within days. There is usually nothing else to manage.
Avoid throughout the recovery period
Saunas and deliberate heat in the first 24 hours; vigorous facial massage at home in the first week; deliberate sun exposure without protection.
Sun protection
SPF50+ broad spectrum every morning, reapplied every 2 hours outdoors.
When you can resume

Japanese Sculpting FAQ
Japanese facial sculpting is a manual, hands-only facial that uses specific massage and lifting techniques developed in Japan to reshape facial contour, drain lymphatic congestion, and lift muscle tone. No needles, lasers, ultrasound, or radiofrequency. At MARA.H Chatswood, performed by our Head Therapist, trained in Japan, 15 years’ experience.
A standard facial massage focuses on relaxation. Japanese facial sculpting follows a structured clinical protocol targeting specific muscle groups, lymphatic pathways, and fascial connections. Pressure, direction, and sequence are deliberate. Most clients see a discernible difference in face shape and jawline definition after one session.
Performed by our Head Therapist, who undertook specialised training in Japan and has 15 years of clinical experience, and is also a validated DMK practitioner. Performed only by therapists trained in the technique.
